Claude Sonnet 5
NewClaude Sonnet 5 is what Anthropic calls its most agentic Sonnet, pairing near-Opus agentic performance with Sonnet-tier pricing. It is particularly strong across the software lifecycle — planning, implementation, debugging, and refactoring large codebases — and at driving browser and terminal tools through multi-step tasks without constant supervision. Anthropic documents a 1M-token context window by default and reports the model closing much of the gap to Opus 4.8 on agentic and coding evaluations, at fast comparative latency. On ATP Token, enable the id on a project and calls debit project credits at the list rates below.
Anthropic platform docs state Claude Sonnet 5 supports a 1M token context window by default (also the maximum), with up to 128k output tokens. Confirm live limits via the gateway catalog for your key.
List rates
USD list · 1 USD = 100 creditsEvery completed request debits project credits at these list rates. Failed requests are not billed.
Where it fits
- End-to-end coding — planning, implementation, debugging, large-codebase refactors
- Browser- and terminal-driving agents that run with minimal supervision
- Daily production traffic that wants near-Opus agentic quality at Sonnet rates
- Long-context agent tasks within the documented 1M window
- Absolute lowest unit cost (consider Haiku-class or flash models)
- Cases that require the Fable/Opus capability ceiling regardless of price
On ATP
The same governance applies to every model on the gateway:
- Project API key — spend and revocation bound to one project
- Model allowlist — only enabled models may be called
- Credits — 1 USD = 100 credits, debited per completed request
- Per-request logs — model, key, project, credits for audit
Cost estimator
A list-price estimate for a month of traffic. Actual spend follows each completed request.
Monthly cost estimator
List-price estimate (1 USD = 100 credits); actual cost comes from each request's response. Prompt-cache hits bill input at the lower cache-read rate, so real spend can be lower.

FAQ
- How much does Claude Sonnet 5 cost on ATP Token?
- List rates for Claude Sonnet 5 (API id claude-sonnet-5): input $2.00 / output $10.00 per 1M tokens. Billing uses credits (1 USD = 100 credits), debited from the project balance per completed request. There is no monthly platform fee; see Pricing for the minimum top-up.
- How do I call Claude Sonnet 5 via API?
- Create a project API key, enable the API id claude-sonnet-5 (not the display name) on that project’s allowlist, point an OpenAI-compatible SDK at https://api.atptoken.ai/v1, and set model to "claude-sonnet-5". See the Quickstart on this page and the docs.
- What are the context and capabilities of Claude Sonnet 5?
- Vendor documentation lists a context window of about 1,000,000 tokens. Capability flags (thinking, tools, vision) follow the gateway model catalog — treat the catalog visible to your key as operational truth. Vendor: Anthropic.
- Who can use Claude Sonnet 5 on ATP?
- Only models on a project’s allowlist can be called with that project’s key (match the API id). Organization → workspace → project governance, per-request logs, and credit budgets are managed in the ATP Console.
